Welcome! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, here to guide you on your path to healing and personal growth. With a license to practice in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, I bring a diverse array of therapeutic modalities and a rich professional background to help you find your way forward.

Journey to Therapy:
My journey into therapy began early. Migrating to the USA as an infant, I quickly became a bridge between cultures, learning English ahead of my parents and helping our family adapt to a new world. This early experience planted the seeds of empathy and understanding, essential qualities in my work as a therapist.

Therapeutic Approach:
I meet my clients where they are, embarking together on a journey of healing and growth. My approach is rooted in trauma-informed care and faith-based practices, tailored to your unique needs. While my work includes significant involvement with the Christian Church clergy and the Latino community, I am enthusiastic about working with people from all walks of life, regardless of their faith. As a therapist, I use spirituality as a tool to complement and enhance your personal growth journey.

Specializations:

My areas of expertise are broad, reflecting the diverse needs of those I serve. They include managing trauma, panic attacks, anxiety, and depression; supporting parents of young children in co-parenting; addressing depression in pregnancy and postpartum; and leading group therapy sessions. In faith-based counseling, I tackle spiritual issues, religious anxiety, spiritual burnout, and confusion. My relationship counseling includes premarital counseling, marital enrichment, and fostering communication growth.

Personal and Professional Background:
As a first-generation Latina, my own experiences have deeply influenced my desire to help others. Over 25 years, I’ve worked in various settings, including domestic violence shelters, mental health clinics, and early childhood programs, bringing empathy and support to those in need. I also bring my experience as a field advisor at Hunter College School of Social Work and as a teacher in Stony Brook University’s MSW program.

Credentials and Methodologies:
My educational journey includes a Master of Social Work from Fordham University, a Master of Christian Psychology, and a Bachelor of Arts in Deviant Behavior and Social Control. I’m trained in cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, brief strategic therapy, and several other modalities, ensuring a comprehensive approach to your wellness.

Beyond Therapy:
When I’m not in the therapist’s chair, you’ll find me enjoying family time, indulging in cooking, exploring new cultures, or engaging in my local church community. I believe in continuous learning and sharing knowledge, often found attending or hosting workshops on weekends.

In our sessions, I strive to ensure we’re in sync, understanding each other’s perspectives. I value the importance of a non-judgmental and supportive environment, where we can address missteps and find paths to repair and growth.

Let’s embark on this journey together, with compassion, understanding, and the shared goal of your well-being and personal growth.
